Coronation Year

By: Jennifer Robson

I have read many of Jennifer Robson's books and always loved her writing style and story ideas; this one did not disappoint. Her previous book, The Gown, centred on the people who worked at Hartnell's preparing the Royal Princess's wedding gown. This book takes place in London during the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and revolves around The Blue Lion Hotel, its owner and the people that inhabit its locale. The main characters are all involved in preparing for the Coronation in some fashion but soon uncover a plot destined to ruin the hotel and endanger the queen's processional parade.

While all the characters are caught up in the excitement of the impending Coronation, it serves as more of a backdrop for this story. Jennifer Robson has again taken an actual historical event and combined it with a fictional mystery to create this absorbing novel.

If you have enjoyed any of Jennifer Robsons previous novels, grab a copy of this one. It will not disappoint. Thanks to NetGalley and William Morrow Paperbacks for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
