The Silent Patient
By Alex Michaelides
Alicia Berenson is a well-known artist. One evening she shoots her husband and then refuses to speak about what happened. This refusal to talk becomes a mystery to her friends and relatives. Alicia is sent to "The Grove," a hospital for the criminally insane.
Theo Faber, a criminal psychotherapist, has always been intrigued by Alicia's story. A post for a psychotherapist becomes available at "The Grove," and Theo seeks a position at the hospital in the hopes of being able to unravel the mystery surrounding Alicia and perhaps finally getting her to talk.
This book had me riveted right from the beginning. The author wrote in a very engaging style, making it very easy to read. The twists and turns in the book had me shaking my head in disbelief. I haven't been this engrossed in a book for a while. The Silent Patient is a great read!
