The Rose Code
By: Kate Quinn
Things are getting busier here, and I am preparing for Craft Sale Season. I have been heads down sewing, and my reading has slowed down. Nevertheless, I have finally (FINALLY) read a great book that has been on my TBR ( to be read) list for a while- The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. I know I am late to the game reading this one, but it was well worth it!
The storyline moves back and forth in time, from 1940, the height of World War II to 1947 and the impending nuptials of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Phillip of Greece. The setting is Bletchley Park, an estate that housed code breakers during the war. We follow the lives of three young women working at BP who befriend one another even as they struggle with their lives, romances, danger, betrayal and the incredible work that they secretly do. I loved that this book involved real-life people as characters in the novel. Kate Quinn once again weaves a historical fiction tale that is deserving of its praise.
