An Orphan's Song ( Book 3 in the Shilling Grange Children's Home Series)
By: Lizzie Page
At the moment, I am feeling very sad because I have just finished the Shilling Grange Trilogy! Lizzie Page has created some very memorable and lovable characters. Their stories have held me captive through all three books.
Book three takes place a few years after World War II. Clara Newton is the house mother in a home for orphaned children. The children have been very busy taking singing lessons. When the government announces that they will be holding The Festival of Britain to raise the country's spirits, the children decide to audition for the show. But, of course, many things arise to throw a wrench in their plans. Will the children be able to showcase their talents to the nation? Will Clara and the handsome neighbour Ivor ever figure out their feelings towards one another?
I am a fan of Lizzie Page and love her writing style. I have read several of her books, and I find I learn something new in each one. An Orphan's Song is captivating and heartwarming. You will be engrossed from the first page of the first book in this series. The story and the characters will get under your skin and leave you thinking about them long after you have closed the book. If you haven't started this series yet, what are you waiting for? Congratulations to Lizzie Page for yet another wonderful book!
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lizzie Page for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
