Someone recommended this book through Good Reads and when I read the description, it intrigued me. I decided that this might be good as an audio book to listen to, and I was right. It was an absolute delight. This book is meant to be listened to or read as if you were standing around the pub in St. Johns Newfoundland listening to your friends tell their stories. They are meant to be lighthearted, entertaining tales to lift our spirits during this time of social distancing and lockdowns. Alan Doyle hits the spot with this book. It was an antidote for our time and something I surely needed. It is not long in terms of audiobooks (Only 4 hours) and it is great when you are walking or needing to drive somewhere of if you need something before bed to shut out the world. The tales are all heartwarming, funny adventures and they surely do lift one's spirit.
